Newborn photography is a beautiful way to capture the earliest, most tender moments of a baby’s life. Those first few days and weeks are filled with tiny details — the delicate eyelashes, wrinkly little toes, and peaceful sleeping faces — that change so quickly as a baby grows. Professional newborn sessions are designed to freeze these fleeting moments in time, creating timeless portraits that celebrate the love, warmth, and wonder of welcoming a new life into the world. It’s not just about taking pictures; it’s about telling the story of a family’s newest chapter.
Hiring a professional newborn photographer ensures that these precious memories are captured safely, beautifully, and with expert care. We are trained in posing, handling, and soothing newborns, creating a calm and comfortable environment for both baby and parents. We also have the experience and equipment to deliver high-quality, artistic images that you’ll be proud to display and share for years to come. These portraits become treasured keepsakes — reminders of just how small, loved, and perfect your baby was in those very first days.
Traditional Newborn photography sessions are done in our studio (located in North Reading, MA) ideally no more than 10 days after the baby has arrived. The longer you wait to do your newborn session, the greater the chance of a wiggly, wide-awake baby.
Lifestyle Newborn photography sessions are done at your home and is much more flexible with timing. Lifestyle captures your newborn and family throughout your home in order to capture how your everyday life is at this point in time. We normally use two different locations in your home (usually the nursery, bedroom and/or living room) and capture solo shots of your newborn (sleeping or awake, whatever they decide to do in the moment) and with your family as well. It's much more casual and we do not pose your newborn as you would see in the studio. Since posing and a sleepy baby isn't a priority, these can be scheduled months after your baby's arrival, whenever you're feeling up for capturing these memories.
These sessions can be reserved on their own or in conjunction with a maternity session (for a bundled discount).

Thank you for taking the time to consider our studio for documenting this milestone in your family's story. All of our newborn collections include the studio session fee, digital images, props and setups made specifically for newborns (and their safety!), selection from Stephanie's 20+ newborn backdrop collection, use of studio props, a private online viewing/ordering gallery and options to include the entire family as well.
A newborn photography session typically lasts anywhere from 2-4 hours. Most of the session is tending to the baby with feedings, diaper changes, swaddling, everything and anything to keep your baby happy, comfortable and sleepy.

We offer discounts if you'd like to bundle your newborn session with other milestone photography for your baby as well.
If you'd like to purchase this as a gift for a new mom, we do offer gift certificates. It makes an amazing gift that you won't find on any registry, but it's something she'll enjoy, appreciate and cherish for a lifetime (unlike diapers!)!
