A cake smash photo session is a fun, playful way to celebrate your baby’s first birthday (or another milestone) by letting them explore, taste, and completely demolish a cake while a we captures every moment. These sessions are typically styled with a birthday backdrop, soft lighting, and a custom cake that complements the overall look. From curious first pokes to frosting-covered smiles, cake smash sessions focus on genuine expressions and unscripted moments, resulting in images that feel joyful, candid, and full of personality.
Parents choose cake smash sessions because they create a meaningful keepsake of a fleeting stage of childhood. The first birthday marks a huge milestone, and a cake smash turns that moment into a relaxed, memorable experience. We also offer "Splash After the Smash" photos as well. There's no cuter way to clean up your little one than in their own baby-sized bath tub.
Baby cake smash photography sessions can be done at our studio or at a location or your choice (park, beach, home, etc.). And the best part of these sessions?? There's no mess for you to deal with, we take care of it all!

More information about your baby's cake smash session
A Cake Smash session typically lasts anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes, depending your little one. Your child will dictate the pace of the session. Depending on what they need, some sessions may be quicker while others take a tad longer.
We also offer "Splash After the Smash" photos as part of some package as well (or as an add-on). There's no cuter way to clean up you little one than in their own baby-sized bath tub. When adding on a Splash, the total session will be approximately 2 hours.

We offer a variety of cake smash package and a la carte options, which can be viewed on our investment page. If you're looking for something more specific than what you see offered, just reach out and we would love to provide you with a custom quote.
We can shoot in our studio or at a location of your choice (but we always recommend coming into the studio for the best experience). We offer a variety of backdrops and settings to choose from. We will also work with you in order to customize your session. For example, maybe you'd like a certain theme such as your favorite movie or a favorite super-hero. Or maybe a family member has an occupation you'd like incorporated? We are only limited by our imaginations!
Cake Smash sessions can be done whenever you'd like around your baby's first birthday, but many parents like to have the photos ready for their first birthday party. For this reason we recommend scheduling the session 3-4 weeks prior to the party. This ensures that you will have the photos on their first birthday to share with friends and family.

Keep in mind that we will always add more props to these base backdrops (we may add balloons, character cut-outs, ONE letters, banners, lights, themed props, stuffed animals, etc.).
If you have something else in mind, we can always customize a shoot for you too. Nothing is off limits, just ask and we will be happy to put it together for you!!

After viewing the final gallery, I just had one thought Wow, thank you Stephanie for capturing our precious baby boy's first milestone birthday moments. The photos are gorgeous and I was amazed seeing Shriyan enjoying every bit of the session. As I mentioned before he takes time to get acquainted to a new place and surrounding but that was not the case this time, you are ours and my baby's favourite for sure.
